DJ Mag reveals 2012’s Top 100 DJ list

DJ Mag today announced their full list of 2012’s Top DJs, with Armin Van Buuren topping the list for the fifth time.

The top 10 also includes a rather unsurprising roster of DJs including Tiesto, Avicii, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Hardwell, Dash Berlin, Above & Beyond, Afrojack and Skrillex. Avicii made one of the more impressive moves in the top 10, having moved from 39 to 6 to this year’s 3rd place after first appearing in 2010.

There were a few surprises, mainly for those who didn’t even make it in the top 100. Rankings 101-150 were revealed via DJ Mag’s Facebook page in the days leading up to the announcement earlier today in Amsterdam. Bassnectar, who has sold out shows around the U.S. came in at 112, while Morgan Page and Dillon Francis were listed at 109 and 110 respectively, proving that those who vote with their money (by buying tickets) aren’t necessarily the same casting votes in this poll. There are also several names that may sound unfamiliar to most U.S. EDM fans.

DJ Mag is a European-based publication but voting was open to worldwide via a Facebook polling system. The Top 100DJs list is highly regarded among fans and DJs alike. In fact, several DJs were disqualified for paying for votes and/or attempting to compromise the voting system.
