EDC Chicago day two recap + photos

Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Chicago continued for a second day at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet last night.

Spirits were high despite cold temperatures and occasional rain.

Promoter Insomniac Events estimates 24,000 fans gathered on Saturday, up from Friday’s 20,000 attendance estimate. Capacity levels are set at 30,000 each day.

Numerous noise complaints on Friday night from local residents led to decreased volumes and an earlier fireworks show last night, but that didn’t stop fans from making the second day of the inaugural event one to remember.

Musical performers included Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Mat Zo, Fedde Le Grand, Benny Benassi, Avicii, Hardwell, Culture Shock, Bro Safari, Borgore, MiM0SA, and many more.

The day two experience also included roaming theatrical performers, massive interactive art installations, full-scale carnival rides, art cars showcasing rising talent, and another stunning fireworks display to close the evening.

DJ sets from the festival are being streamed continuously throughout the weekend on SiriusXM Electro, channel 52. A free 30-day trial is available for those without a current subscription.

Gates for the third and final day of EDC Chicago open today at 5 p.m.
