Official EDC Chicago 2013 lineup revealed, nearly 30 additional artists added

Insomniac events this evening released the official lineup for the inaugural Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Chicago, set for May 24-26 at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.

Much of the lineup was revealed early yesterday in an article posted on the Chicago Tribune’s website, though the official lineup does offer some additional names and removes others.

Hardstyle fans will be delighted in the announcement that Insomniac’s Basscon stage will be included in the Chicago event.

Additional artists are expected to be added as the event nears.

This is the first time EDC will make a stop in Chicago — or anywhere in the region — before heading to Las Vegas for the largest event of its kind June 21-23. Other EDC stops in 2013 include New York, Puerto Rico, Texas, and Orlando.

EDC Chicago is in direct competition with two other festivals over Memorial Day Weekend: Summer Camp Music Festival, held 140 miles outside Chicago in Chillicothe, Ill., and Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival. Chicago is also home to Spring Awakening Music Festival, held just a few weeks later in June.

EDC Chicago tickets are on sale starting at $175 for GA and $299 for VIP. Tickets including onsite camping options are also available.
