Wakarusa day two recap + photos

Sunshine and warmth were a much welcomed change of pace for the second day of this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival outside Ozark, Ark.

Heavy rain on Wednesday and Thursday led to extremely muddy grounds. Most fans seemed to be only slightly inconvenienced, equipping themselves with mud boots or simply roaming with bare feet.

Musically, Friday was highlighted by Dispatch, Umphrey’s McGee, BoomBox, Of Monsters and Men, and more.

Storms again rolled through late last night, causing all stages to shut down once more. Unlike Thursday night, music did not resume until Saturday afternoon. Crews have been working diligently to repair the roads and grounds throughout the day to allow the festival to continue.

No major storm-related injuries have been reported, however.

Ticket sales have been halted since Thursday because of the extreme conditions.

The weather forecast does appear to be more encouraging for the rest of the festival. Remaining sets on Saturday and Sunday are expected to occur as planned.
