Bonnaroo producers approved to launch new Denver festival in 2018

Superfly, producers of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, has gained approval of Denver City Council to launch a new festival there in September 2018.

According to the Denver Post, the yet-to-be-named three-day event is set to take place on the second or third weekend of September at Overland Park Golf Course.

Superfly, part of the Live Nation family, says the festival will feature performers from a variety of genres as well as showcasing local food and drinks. The proposed layout includes a main stage, two smaller stages, and a comedy stage. Over 30,000 fans are projected to attend the first year, with a maximum capacity set at 80,000.

Approval of the five-year permit has been a long time in the making. Council members debated whether noise, congestion, and environmental concerns from neighbors outweighed the potential economic benefit, but ultimately voted in favor of the event.
