Hardwell claims top spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list

DJ Mag today revealed its highly anticipated annual “Top 100 DJs” list.

Dutch DJ and producer Hardwell topped the list, jumping from his sixth place ranking last year and knocking off five-year reigning champion Armin van Buuren.

Hardwell first appeared on the list just three years ago and is the youngest recipient to date.

Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Steve Aoki were newcomers to the top 10, replacing Deadmau5, Skrillex, and Above & Beyond.

Chicago trio Krewella debuted on the list this year at number 44.

DJ Mag is a European-based publication but voting was open to fans worldwide via an online polling system.

Although some campaign heavily for votes, the list’s clout appears to be weakening among fans and DJs alike. Last year, some DJs were disqualified for paying for votes and/or attempting to compromise the voting system.
