React Presents will produce a new beachfront festival in Chicago this summer.
Scheduled for July 11 and 12, Mamby on the Beach has yet to be formally announced, though a Facebook page for the event surfaced yesterday. The page’s first post was a graphic simply asking “What is Mamby?” along with festival dates.
Claptone is rumored to be one of the performing artists.
Previous Chicago beach festivals Riverwest and Wavefront experienced rocky starts and failed to establish themselves in the market due to low attendance numbers and noise complaints from neighboring residents.
This is the first beach-side festival attempt from React, though they already produce Spring Awakening Music Festival, North Coast Music Festival, SummerSet Music Festival, and hundreds of club events throughout the year. React is part of the SFX family of brands.
