Sonny Moore — best known as Skrillex — today revealed dates for a new 2014 version of his infamous “Mothership” tour. Several cities in the Electronic Midwest coverage area made the cut, including Oklahama City, Kansas City, Cleveland, Detroit, Louisville, St. Louis, Omaha, and Denver.
Always on a mission to top his prior shows in terms of fan experience, Skrillex and his team have spent the last few months designing and testing tour elements in a 10,000-square-foot warehouse in Los Angeles.
Skrillex’s production manager, Corey Johnson, says they consistently try to raise the bar in production each tour, but not simply for the sake of doing it.
“We’re just developing tools to represent Sonny’s music visually and performing those tools in a very effective way that resonates with the music,” said Johnson in an interview with Red Bull Music.
“We’re literally trying to bring his music to vision, and our goal is to not make people go blind.”
Joining the tour for support on select dates are Dillon Francis, DJ Snake, What So Not, and Milo & Otis. An American Express presale launched today. Tickets go on sale for the general public for most dates on Fri., March 14.
