Detroit mayor proclaims May 23-30 as Detroit Techno Week

Coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of this weekend’s Movement Electronic Music Festival, the city of Detroit and Mayor Mike Duggan have officially proclaimed May 23-30 as “Detroit Techno Week.”

The certificate of recognition calls the festival one of the world’s most recognized electronic music festivals and recognizes the “rich culture of Techno, which was created in the city of Detroit.” (See the full proclamation below.)

Tickets for the three day festival — running Saturday through Monday — are still available here. Featured artists include Kraftwerk, Adam Beyer, Carl Craig, Dubfire, Get Real, Guy Gerber, J.Phlip, John Digweed, Kevin Saunderson, Loco Dice, Maceo Plex, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Stacey Pullen, Tale of Us, and many more.
